Player’s Choice: Realme 13+ 5G Review – A Powerful Entry-Level SmartphoneAn interesting gadget with fast hardware has appeared in Pakistan

Realme

The Realme company sells smartphones in Pakistan for various user requests, which can be divided into three lines. Thus, the C series includes gadgets in the entry-level price segment, distinguished by high reliability and a balanced set of all the characteristics necessary for the average student.

The devices from the GT family can be classified as “flagship killers” — they have many of the properties of premium devices but at a significantly lower cost. These smartphones traditionally focus on advanced technologies. For example, realme GT3 received the fastest 240W charging in the industry, replenishing the energy reserve from zero to 100% in less than 10 minutes, realme GT6 became the first gadget of the brand with functions based on artificial intelligence, and the upcoming realme GT7 will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite — the most powerful chipset for Android devices.

In the middle is the company’s so-called numbered line, focused on performance. A new representative of the line—realm 13+ 5G—has now appeared on the domestic market.

Tech Facts was one of the first to study the device and determine what qualities a gaming smartphone in the mid-price segment should have, capable of competing with much more expensive gadgets.

Powerful hardware for all tasks

Realme 13+ 5G features powerful hardware for its segment, suitable for all kinds of needs of different users, including gamers. The latest eight-core Dimensity 7300 Energy chipset is at the center of the hardware, manufactured using the advanced 4-nanometer process technology for the mid-range segment and 12 GB of RAM. According to the developers, the overall performance has increased by 20% compared to the previous-generation chip and the graphics cores by 25%. Indeed, on AnTuTu, the smartphone scores over 750 thousand points – one of the best results among mid-budget devices. In GeekBench, the new Realme scored 1052 points in a single-core test and an incredible 2976 points in a multi-core test for its class.

The benchmark results were confirmed by tests in “combat” conditions—when launching popular, demanding games, Realme 13+ 5G never sagged, even during long sessions. PUBG and Call of Duty Mobile were launched at maximum graphics settings and worked smoothly at 80–90 fps.

A huge stainless steel evaporation chamber with an area of 6050 sq. mm helps to ensure a consistently high frame rate and excellent picture. The cooling system reduces the processor’s temperature by 19 degrees, so the smartphone heats up only slightly, even under the highest loads.

In addition, a special GT Mode optimizes the most resource-intensive programs and increases the frame rate. This mode also features unique animations to demonstrate the system’s computing capabilities.

Finally, the Geek Power Tuning feature allows sophisticated users to fine-tune the main processor cores and the graphics core, selecting a specific clock frequency range for them. Previously, these features were available only on devices from the flagship GT series.

“Speedy” design, “smart” display and loud sound

The realm series has always been known for its minimalist yet distinctive design, and the new model is no exception. The back of the phone features design elements inspired by a racing car’s curves and lightning speed, conveying a sense of super speed and performance right in your hands. The central element is the slightly oval camera module, with the main optical characteristics engraved on the metal frame.

The upper part has a single-color matte surface, while the lower section has a wavy marble pattern. The zones are conditionally divided by a semicircular line, which refers to a bend in a race track. Thanks to the case’s only 7.6 mm thickness and aluminum frames, the smartphone fits comfortably in the hand. The pleasant-to-the-touch plastic protects against slipping and does not leave fingerprints and stains. The smartphone complies with the IP65 standard, protecting the gadget from moisture and dust.

The screen is not afraid of water either. The proprietary Rainwater Smart Touch technology scans the moisture on the display, after which it launches a special algorithm that “smooths out” errors during touch interaction with wet hands. At the same time, the Air Gestures function is provided, allowing you to control the smartphone without touching the display. The 6.67-inch OLED panel with a frame rate of 120 Hz, FHD+ resolution, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of 2000 nits is more than enough for normal use outdoors and on a clear sunny day.

As for the acoustics, the stereo speakers may lack a little bass, but they produce clear and loud sound both when watching videos and playing games. Another nice bonus is the 3.5 mm jack for connecting a wired headset – an option that is not often found in modern mobile gadgets.

Capacious battery and very fast charging

In addition to powerful hardware, the Realme 13+ 5G surprises with a battery life of 5000 mAh, the durability of which is supported by an advanced cooling system. On average, resource-intensive games eat up only 6% of the battery charge in half an hour, and with continuous playback of HD video, its reserve will last for more than a day. Thus, with moderate use, the smartphone will easily last a couple of days in working condition.

Moreover, realme 13+ 5G supports super-fast charging at 80 W – such power is almost not found in this segment. Five minutes will be enough for a whole hour of gaming session, and from zero to 100%, the reserve is replenished in no more than 50 minutes. Thus, in the morning, the smartphone can be connected to the outlet for a very short time so that later throughout the day, you do not have to worry about the availability of power sources

Decent cameras

The Realme 13+ 5G is primarily focused on performance, but it also shows good results in photography. The main 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 camera with optical stabilization takes good photos in daylight but with slightly oversaturated colors as if it were immediately preparing photos for publication on social networks. Detail and dynamic range are also at the proper level with a 2x intra-sensor zoom.

In low light, the camera automatically switches to night mode and thinks a little before snapping a photo, but the result is quite decent, although not without unnecessary noise. The main camera works with an auxiliary 2-megapixel depth sensor, which helps with portrait shooting. There is no wide-angle lens.

As for video, the smartphone allows you to record high-quality videos at 1080p and 60 frames per second or at 4K/30fps. The 16 MP front selfie camera takes good pictures in good light, although sometimes they turn out dull and without excessive detail.

Results and conclusions

Realme 13+ 5G is suitable for those who need an inexpensive but powerful smartphone with a long battery life and a decent main camera. The new high-performance Dimesity 7300 Energy chipset, an advanced cooling system, and special functions briskly pull even the most demanding games at a stable 90 fps and high graphics settings.

Other pluses include 80W charging, a bright and smooth display, solid build quality, and a pleasant minimalist design.

The only shortcomings that can be highlighted are the lack of a wide-angle camera, which slightly limits the shooting capabilities.

Despite this, Realme 13+ 5G has almost all the qualities of a well-balanced inexpensive smartphone. It will suit ordinary users who need a powerful phone for reasonable money and gamers.
